(Tax Update) New Access Control for MyTax Representatives

The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (HASiL) has announced an update on access control settings for Representatives of Company Directors and Organisation Administrators in MyTax.

Starting from 18 January 2025, companies will have control over setting access limits for their appointed Representatives.

Access Limits for New Representatives

Effective immediately, Company Directors and Organisation Administrators can assign one of the following access levels to their Representatives:

  • Tax – Access is limited to taxation-related functions only.

  • MyInvois – Access is restricted to MyInvois-related functions.

  • Tax and MyInvois – Access includes both taxation and MyInvois-related functions.

Automatic Access Settings for Existing Representatives

For Representatives appointed before 18 January 2025, HASiL will apply automatic access settings based on their appointment history:

  1. Appointed before 1 July 2024 – If they have an existing role in MyInvois, they will retain full access to both Tax and MyInvois functions.

  2. Appointed between 1 July 2024 and 18 February 2025 – If they hold a role in MyInvois, they will be limited to MyInvois functions only.

  3. Appointed before 18 February 2025 with no role in MyInvois – Access will be restricted to Tax functions only.

Company Directors & Organisation Administrators Can Update Access

To ensure Representatives have the correct level of access, Company Directors and Organisation Administrators can review and update access controls anytime within MyTax.

This update enhances security and ensures that only authorised personnel have access to the necessary functions in MyTax and MyInvois. Businesses should take the opportunity to review their Representative access settings to comply with the new rules before the effective date.
