Malaysia Business Reporting System (MBRS) Part 1 of 3

SSM has, on 27 September 2018, officially launched the submission platform known as the “Malaysian Business Reporting System” (MBRS) based on the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) format.


This submission platform allows for the annual submission filling of:
• Financial Statements and Reports (FS);
• Annual Return (AR) ; and
• Exemption Application (EA) which are related to the FS and AR applications.
 

MBRS contains of 3 main components as follows:


1. SSM Taxanomy (SSMxT)

A data dictionary of financial and non-financial reporting elements which defines the mandatory concepts based on the disclosure requirements for Financial Statements from Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Malaysian Private Entity Reporting Standards (MPERS) and Companies Act 2016 that are reported in the AR, FS and EA in the MBRS Preparation Tool (mTool).


2. MBRS Preparation Tool (mTool)

A preparation tool that allow companies to prepare and generate AR, FS and EA in XBRL format.


3. MBRS Portal (mPortal)

A submission platform of AR, FS and EA digitally to SSM.
