Budget 2017 Highlight – New proposal and changes affecting Income Tax Act (ITA), 1967 for Tax Incentive.
 

According to the recent announcement of Malaysia Budget 2017 on 21 October 2016, there are new proposal of legislation as below:


1. New: Gazetted Order – Extend the application period of Pioneer Status and
Investment Tax Allowance for another two (2) years for investments in new 4 and 5 stars hotels


2. New: Gazetted Order – Expand the scope of Halal products industry to include
production of nutraceutical and probiotic by Halal Industry Players in Halal Parks


3. New: Gazetted Order – Extend the period of double deduction for

  • Anchor Companies under Vendor Development Programme to another four(4) years

  • Structured Internship Programme to another three(3) years and expand the scope to include Malaysia students pursuing full-time vocational level (Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 3)
